The original iMac will be featured in a new exhibit of the British Design and Art Direction. The Rewind exhibit, at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, showcases 40 years of design and advertising excellence.
According to Macworld UK , D&AD has recognized Apple product designs many times over the past few years. The groundbreaking iMacs, the Apple Design Group and British designer Jonathan Ive won a Gold Award in 1999.
The iMac shipped in 1998 and was one of the key products in reversing Apple’s declining (at the time) prospects. Over 6 million people bought the original “fruit-flavored” consumer system, according to Apple.
