The Web development firm of Electric Butterfly has released a new beta version (3.0b2) of Lighthouse, a Web search engine for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X (though it’s not been tested with Mac OS X 10.2).
The Internet companion, developed with the REALbasic development environment from Real Software contains such features as a Web Accounts Manager; personalized calendar; Note Keeper; local weather for more than 160 cities; a world clock for 65 cities; URL Favorites Organizer; and Plug-ins Manager/Editor.
The new beta lets you export your calendar to HTML or XML and export your Notes and Web favorites to text, HTML or XML. There’s now print support with an editable print preview, a backup option for archiving personal data and a new preferences format with improved handling.
Registration for the finished product will be US$10. More details can be found at the Lighthouse Web site.
