Online and mail order company MacMall anticipates shipping “thousands of copies” of Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) this weekend. What’s more, their brick and mortar retail store will have a kick-off event tomorrow night.
PC Mall Inc.’s retail store, Creative Computers, is located at 1505 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica, Calif. The store features almost 1,000 peripherals for the Mac like printers, storage, camcorders, digital cameras and more. It also stocks more than 600 software titles for Mac users.
Starting at 10:20 pm on August 23 and continuing to 1 a.m. on August 24, Creative Computers will be selling Mac OS X 10.2 to storegoers. The company will have on-hand folks who will demonstrate the new features and capabilities in Mac OS X 10.2, and who can answer questions. It’ll be showing off the news Power Mac G4 867MHz Dual Processor model, eMacs, iPods and more as well.
Creative is offering the software for US$98.95 after mail-in rebate. The store will have refreshments on hand, and giveaways will be raffled for folks who buy Mac OS X 10.2 at the release party. The store will re-open at 8 a.m. on Saturday and will stay open until 7 p.m. that night.
