Angelo Scicolone has released
PrefsOverload 5, the latest major release of his preferences management utility for the Mac.
PrefsOverload allows users to detect and delete unnecessary or corrupted preferences files. It works with both “Classic” Mac OS versions and Mac OS X, and scans both standard and non-standard Preferences folders.
Changes in PrefsOverload 5.0 include:
Integration with the Finder via Drag and Drop.
Faster files listing (now custom icons are added when scan is completed)
Apple preference files exclusion improved under Mac OS X.
Support applications now include Project Builder and Resorcerer.
Now it is possible to edit file names.
Lots of minor interface improvements.
Overall application stability was improved.
PrefsOverload was developed using REAL Software’s REALbasic development environment, and the previous version, PrefsOverload 4, was recently the recipient of a Cubie award, REAL Software’s annual recognition of exceptional REALbasic software.
Distributed as shareware, PrefsOverload costs US$15 to register.
