San Diego, Calif.-based e.Digital Corp. has announced the Odyssey 150 and 800, two new digital audio players that are Mac and Windows-compatible.
The USB 2.0-equipped Odyssey 800 is similar to the Odyssey 1000, an iPod-like digital music player introduced this past July, with less capacity. The Odyssey 800 sports a 15GB hard disk drive (instead of the 1000’s 20GB storage system) and is priced at about US$299, $50 less than the 1000.
By comparison, the Odyssey 150 is more compact because it utilizes flash memory to store music rather a hard disk drive. It has twice as much memory as the 100 model — 128MB and can be expanded to 256MB using a SmartMedia card. e.Digital said the Odyssey 150 will run for about 30 hours on a single AA battery.
