Channel Storm Inc., a firm that specializes in live video production and broadcasting software, has updated Live Channel Pro to version 1.4.1, adding support for Mac OS X 10.2 (“Jaguar”). Live Channel Pro lets users create a virtual live TV studio on any Mac without any additional hardware.
Version 1.4.1 also offers improved performance, multilingual support, MPEG-4 video streaming and some bug fixes.
Live Channel handles all the production and broadcasting steps in a single application. It’s based on Channel Storm’s proprietary Live Render technology that enables video switching, compositing and professional transitions, all performed with real-time anti-aliasing on the multiple live video and audio sources, recorded clips, still images, logos, graphics and text that Live Channel supports. Live Channel comes with a Live Presenter feature, which synchronizes the rich-media presentations with the live broadcasts, and its recording feature that simultaneously records both the live broadcast and the synchronized rich media.
Live Channel Pro 1.4.1 delivers more video frames per second on the same hardware, and takes advantage of dual-processor Macs. The update also adds support for all languages, including double-byte characters, allowing users to create text and scrolling titles for video in real-time, in any language and any font. Localized versions of Live Channel Pro are currently available in English, French and Japanese. They can be downloaded at the Channel Storm Web site, where a demo version is available.
Version 1.4.1 is a free update for current users; for new users, the registration fee is US$999 for electronic downloads and $35 for more a boxed CD. The education cost is $499.
