Symantec Corp. has updated its tech support database with information about compatibility between its Norton Utilities 7.0 software and Mac OS X 10.2, “Jaguar.”
The company advises users who need to repair or recover data from Mac OS X 10.2-equipped systems to reboot off their Norton Utilities CD-ROM if necessary, as the software is not yet Mac OS X 10.2-compatible.
“Norton Utilities 7.0 and 7.0.1 will not run natively in Mac OS X v10.2, code named Jaguar. Please bookmark this page and return for future compatibility information,” said Symantec. “To examine, optimize or recover files on your Mac OS X v10.2 disk, boot from the NUM CD and run the utilities from there.”
