Berlin, Germany-based Native Instruments today announced their first product designed to run natively in Mac OS X. It’s called Traktor DJ Studio 2.0, and it’s coming the end of next month.
Traktor DJ Studio 2.0 is designed as a pro-level DJ mixing solution. The software has two playback modules for mixing of MP3s, Sound Designer II and AIFF files, as well as audio CDs. It also features a playlist section, DJ mixer, beat matcher, digital scratcher, cue section, and filters. The software can record all control movements and even exports a mix in a dedicated file format.
Native Instruments said that Traktor DJ Studio 2.0 benefits from Mac OS X’s low latency and preemptive multitasking. It also supports symmetric multiprocessing, so you’ll see better performance on a multiprocessor Mac as well. The software also supports Mac OS X Core Audio, which makes it easier to use multiple I/O interfaces and makes MIDI drivers available at the OS level.
Expected to be released in late September, Traktor DJ Studio 2.0 will retail for US$199.
