The Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (lafcpug) will hold its monthly meeting this Wednesday, Aug. 28, starting at 6:45 p.m. at the LA Film School in Hollywood, California.
The brand new ” DV Companion for OS X ” by the author, Philip Hodgetts, will be spotlighted. The DV Companion, an online help solution that’s always available from the Help menu of Final Cut Pro, has been completely revised for FCP 3.
Andrew Balis, Final Cut Pro guru and trainer, will show off volume two of the CGM Transitions and Filters effects package for Final Cut Pro. Digital Film Tree (http://www.digitalfilmtree.com/) — a firm that offers FCP instruction, consulting, products and services — will demo version 2.1 of the AJA Kona Capture Card for nonlinear editing.
JD Wilcox from Promax will have a little “Fun with FCP Keyboard Shortcuts and Modifier keys.” Aaton Cohen-Sitt will demo ” Gorilla,” a suite of software tools designed to assist the creative individual in making a film or a video. Finally, there’ll be a round of “Stump the Gurus,” show-and-tells, and a raffle. This month’s prizes total “into the thousands of dollars,” said Michael Horton, head of lafcpug.
