Anaheim, Calif.-based peripheral and interface card maker Orange Micro Inc. has updated the firmware of some of its Grappler SCSI interface cards to better support Mac OS X 10.2.
The updates are available for download from the Orange Micro Web site. Separate downloads are available for the Grappler SCSI 906F and Grappler SCSI 930U products.
The 930U is a discontinued SCSI-3-based interface card for the Macintosh that supports up to 20MB/sec transfer rate with separate 50 pin interfaces for internal and external SCSI-based hard disk drives. The SCSI 906F is aimed at users looking for an inexpensive way to attach legacy SCSI peripherals to their Power Mac G3s or G4s.
The firmware updates also correct a compatibility issue between these products and Power Mac G4 667 and 733MHz Digital Audio systems as well as the G4 QuickSilver systems.
