Niemeijer Consult, an Amsterdam-based software company, has released KeyStrokes 2.2.2, its on-screen keyboard for use on Mac OS 7.1- 9.2.2.
KeyStrokes — built for disabled users, special education, children, server management, touch screens, tablets and “couch surfers” — offers intelligent, language independent word prediction, shortcuts to frequently used text, multiple keyboard layouts (including alphabetic) and an implementation of functions keys. (Word prediction dictionaries containing the most frequently used 15,000 words are available for US English, UK English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch.) Version 2.2.2 has updated documentation and an improved registration system.
A 15-day, fully functional demo version of KeyStrokes 2.2.2 is available for download. Registration is US$45 for a single user with discounts of up to 40 percent for users of multiple copies. KeyStrokes 2.2.2 is a free upgrade for registered users of KeyStrokes 2. A Mac OS X version of KeyStrokes is also available.
