Dr. Bott LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of Mac peripherals, has announced compatibility of its US$34.95 VGA Extractor with Mac OS X 10.2 (“Jaguar”), as well as the Radeon 9000 Pro, Nvidia GeForce4 MX, and Nvidia GeForce4 Titanium video cards that ship in the new dual processor Power Macs.
The video cards on the new pro towers offer both an ADC and a DVI ports each capable of driving a separate display. Dr. Bott’s VGA Extractor for ADC allows the ADC port on these cards to drive a standard analog display.
VGA Extractor allows the use of a VGA display on the ADC port, in place of an Apple flat panel monitor. You just plug it into the ADC port, which yields a standard VGA connector. The VGA Extractor isn’t compatible with the original Apple TwinView card based on nVidia GeForce 2MX that shipped in Power Mac G4 800 DP computers.
