Mac game publisher Aspyr Media has released a new update for The Sims, their enormously popular simulated life game. Entitled The Sims Update, August 2002, the new updater brings The Sims to 1.1.6 if you’re still using the OS 9 version, or to version 2.0.2 if you’re using the Carbon app for OS X.
Aspyr reported that the new update fixes a memory leak and crashes, reduces CPU usage when The Sims is paused, corrects an overdrawing bug and increases the number of user add-ons allowed under Mac OS X.
Visit Aspyr’s The Sims Support Web page for more details and links to the update download.
In related news, MacCentral reported earlier this month that The Sims Vacation, the newest add-on pack for The Sims, had gone gold master. Sources now report that Vacation is shipping.
