Costa Mesa, Calif-based CMS Peripherals today announced price reductions on its ABSplus line of hard drive-based backup solutions for PC and Mac. The company has cut prices up to US$210 on ABSplus configurations.
The FireWire-based ABSplus enables users to automatically back up their Mac’s internal hard drive by simply connecting the device to their Mac. ABSplus utilizes backup software that, once configured, performs a complete backup of the internal hard drive every time the ABSplus is connected. It can alternately be used as an external storage device if needed. It’s even bootable.
With storage capacities ranging from 40 to 120GB and configurations tailored for notebook and desktop machines, prices on the ABSplus once ranged from $399 to $799. Prices now run $299 to $589 depending on capacity and configuration.
