Confirming news that MacCentral first brought readers last week, Mac game publisher Aspyr Media today announced delivery of The Sims Vacation, an expansion pack for the popular game.
Developed by Electronic Arts’ Maxis Studio — creators of the legendary Sim City series — and converted to the Mac by Westlake Interactive, The Sims Vacation is the latest add-on for the popular Sims series. In The Sims, you control all aspects of artificial people called Sims. In this installment, you can enable your Sims to interact with more than 125 new items and visit fun vacation spots like a tropical island paradise, a ski resort and a woodside camping site.
It’s not all fun and games, though — you’ll also be challenged to help your Sims avoid pitfalls like a bad case of Montezuma’s Revenge or out of control kids. And they’ll get to interact with new (and bizarre) characters like the Yeti and the Beach Shark.
Rated T for “Teen” by the ESRB, The Sims Vacation is available now from Mac software resellers with a suggested retail price of US$29.95. It’s necessary to have the full version of The Sims in order to play this expansion pack.
