Apple’s newest retail store opens in White Plains, NY this Saturday, at 10 am. The store is opening at The Westchester, located at 125 Westchester Avenue in White Plains.
As with other Apple Stores, The Westchester location will feature a weeklong series of hands on workshops and demonstrations offering Mac users and potential Mac users a look at all the great things they can do with their systems. You can get more details about what’s happening at the new venue at Apple’s Web site.
Apple reps will be giving demonstrations every hour on the hour of products including iPhoto, iTunes and iPod and Mac OS X. What’s more, Corel will be by on Sunday to offer demonstrations of its Graphics Suite software. And, as always, Apple offers a special “Getting Started” workshop for new Mac owners at 9 am on Saturdays (starting the week after the store opens, obviously).
Apple Stores feature hundreds of software titles and hardware accessories that you can buy for your Mac, and sport stations that show visitors how Macs can be used — for everything from general productivity software and games, to surfing the Web (wirelessly, of course), to manipulating digital video, ripping, mixing and burning MP3 audio, and using the SuperDrive to burn DVDs you can play back in regular DVD players.
Apple Store The Westchester is also having a Grand Opening Digital Lifestyle Collection Sweepstakes. No purchase is necessary, but visitors to the store can pick up an official entry form that will enable them to win a Grand Prize package worth about US$3,000 — it consists of a Combo drive-equipped iMac, iPod, Canon Powershot S200 Digital Elph still camera, Epson Stylus Photo Printer 820 and a Canon ZR40 video camera. Entries must be received by September 14th.
The Westchester is an upscale mall owned by The Simon Property Group. It features New York State’s first Nordstrom department store, Neiman-Marcus, and more than 150 other stores, eateries and salons.
