Mac game publisher
has offered up its latest batch of weekly screenshots from its forthcoming game, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Game of the Year Edition. This week’s screenshots have been taken from mission 3, entitled “Stone Bell.”
“In this mission you have to lead the Ghosts in an attempt to stop a Russian armored spearhead from reaching the NATO headquarters, defeat the covering infantry and then take out the tanks. Just another day at the office for the elite fighting force of Ghost Recon,” said Aspyr project manager Chris Silman.
Ghost Recon is the latest game in the series that started with Rainbow Six and continued with Rogue Spear. The first version of the series to be published by Aspyr through a license granted by PC publisher Ubi Soft, Ghost Recon is a tactical combat shooter that mixes elements of strategy with the techniques and technology of modern warfare. In Ghost Recon, you command a group of highly trained military specialists — the Ghosts — who are sent in to dangerous regions to defuse problems before the explode into world conflicts.
Ghost Recon: Game of the Year Edition features the original Ghost Recon, set in the near future in a destabilized Russia taken over by hard-right politicians determined to re-establish the Iron Curtain. It combines that game along with Desert Shield — an add-on pack originally available as a separate purchase. The expansion takes the Ghosts to Eritreya, the east African neighbor of Ethiopia that has once again been invaded, threatening important Red Sea shipping lanes.
Currently in beta development, the Mac version of Ghost Recon: Game of the Year Edition is anticipated to minimally require a G3/450, 128MB RAM, 1GB hard disk space, an ATI RAGE 128 graphics system with 16MB VRAM.
