The Atlanta, Chicago and New York City chapters of the InDesign User Group are set to meet in late September and early October. The user group’s Web site has been updated with new details and registration info, if you’re interested in attending.
On Sept. 25, the Chicago chapter will meet at 6:30 pm to discuss migrating from other workflows (like QuarkXPress and PageMaker) to InDesign. It’s a hands-on session where attendees are encouraged to bring files and projects of their own. It happens at the Sterling Ledet & Associates office in Des Plaines, near the CTA Blue Line station and within easy access of I-90 and I-294.
On September 26 at 7:00 pm, the New York chapter will meat at Parsons School of Design to discuss “InDesign 2.0: Tips & Techniques.” They are soliciting user group members to submit their favorite tip or technique; the best 20 or 30 tips will be demonstrated. What’s more, the top tip submitter (as voted by the audience) will be presented with a special prize (if present). Seating is limited to 60 people, so reserve your spot today.
Last but not least, the Atlanta chapter will gather on October 1 at the Art Institute of Atlanta at 6:30 pm. Following a “meet and greet,” the event will feature award-winning designer Jim Springer, who will show how he uses InDesign in his work. Ray Robertson of Scripting Matters will show off some AppleScript automation techniques for InDesign, too. The event wraps up with a raffle at 9:00 pm.
More details, registration forms and other info are available from the InDesign User Group’s Web site.
