Mac OS X 10.2 (“Jaguar”) has been released in the Middle East with features custom-made for the area’s users, according to an article in AME Info .
“Apple’s Jaguar has been made with the Arab consumer in mind as it is possible to receive and send e-mails in Arabic and browse Arabic Web sites,” Layth Sibai, localization manager of Arab Business Machine Ltd. (ABM), said. “The new operating system also includes an Arabic friendly search engine, which will be very useful to computers users in the region. Such wonderful features are sure to impress Apple’s Middle Eastern clientele as well as non-Mac users.”
Elias Abou-Rustom, marketing director at ABM, added that it will be “the evident Arabic tinge of the Jaguar that will mesmerize computer users in the Middle East who can expect more features to come in the near future.” In fact, he thinks Mac OS X 10.2 will “take the Arab world by storm.”
