SilverNetworks has released a maintenance update for SilverCreator, its game creation program for the Macintosh.
SilverCreator is a game construction kit aimed at Mac OS 7.5.5 or higher (including OS X). It provides all the tools you need to create your own game, if you’re adept at typing some text, adding some graphics and clicking some buttons.
SilverCreator 1.0.1 fixes almost 20 bugs, according to the developer, and also offers enhanced online game support, a paint fill tool and improvements to its script interpreter.
SilverCreator offers advanced features like an event-based scripting language, full QuickTime support — including Flash and QuickTime VR — and an embedded sprite engine with support for transparency. You can compile the game for “Classic” Mac OS or Mac OS X, and there’s no royalty fees.
