FileMaker Pro Inc., a subsidiary of Apple that makes database applications, is showcasing its entire new product line, including FileMaker Pro 6 and FileMaker Mobile 2 — at this week’s Apple Expo in Paris. The FileMaker stand is B77/C76 in Hall 4.
FileMaker also announced that it intends to develop new software for Mac OS X only, not for earlier versions of the Mac operating system. FileMaker 6 line will be its last developed for Mac OS 9. This coincides with Apple’s plans for Mac OS X-only booting to be implemented next year.
“FileMaker sees strong adoption of Mac OS X among our customers and developers, and by focusing on Mac OS X, we can best harness and deliver its benefits,” said FileMaker President Dominique Goupil. “A recent survey of our customers showed us that 41 percent of those using FileMaker on Mac OS are already running on Mac OS X. That’s a remarkable adoption rate.”
Apple Expo is being held at the Paris Expo in Porte de Versailles, Hall 4, September 10-14.
