The Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930 SB, the NEC MultiSync FP2141 SB and the Mitsubishi Diamond Pro DP2070 SB monitors all get the SpectraView treatment, complete with a re-attachable hood, USB color calibrator, USB to DDC/CI video cable and SpectraView color calibration software.
The Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930 SB is a 19-inch (18-inch viewable) display with a resolution of 1920 x 1440 @ 73Hz, while the NEC MultiSync FP2141 SB is a 22-inch (20-inch viewable) monitor. The Mitsubishi Diamond Pro DP2070 SB monitor is also a 22-inch (20-inch viewable) display. Both 22-inch displays sport maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels @ 86Hz.
The displays all feature the SuperBright Diamondtron 0.24mm flat aperture grille technology, and they’re all Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)-based. Many professional designers prefer CRT displays over LCD monitors for enhanced color fidelity, tuning and calibration capabilities.
The SpectraView system uses a tri-stimulus colorimeter to help gauge on-screen color measurements. Software links together the input and output devices. The monitor is controlled directly through the DDC/CI interface, manipulating RGB gains to tweak luminance and sharp blacks.
Look for the SpectraView Color Calibration Solution displays to be available in early October through authorized NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display resellers. Street prices are estimated at US$1,299 for the FP2141 SB, $799 for the Diamond Pro 930 SB, and $1,299 for the DP2070 SB.
