GlobalColor Solution supports networked servers running Windows NT 4.0/X86, Windows 2000/86 operating systems and Mac and Windows client computers. It packs workflow management tools and is designed to be matched with specific printing devices for a range of color printing applications. The initial version of the GlobalColor Solution has been designed for the new line of imagePROGRAF printers launched at Seybold by Canon U.S.A.
Using a graphical user interface, GlobalColor Solution lets document originators create and edit PDF files or print directly to the printer from native applications, and to control all the features and functionality of the printer from the client application or the PDF job submission tool. It can accept files submitted simultaneously from multiple users in PostScript, TIFF, EPS or PDF formats, even with different job requirements.
Color management capabilities include pre-configured color setups and ICC output profiles for target proofing media and resolution, ICC press profiles for most printing color standards, and automated calibration tools. End user pricing will be set by Global Graphics OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). The initial version of the new GlobalColor Solution, designed for the Canon imagePROGRAF W2200, W7250 and W7200 printers, will be available next month.
