If you have US$9,000 burning a hole in your pocket and you’re looking for the ultimate LCD display for your Mac-based imaging workstation, you might be interested in a new offering from
Torque Systems Inc.
and Totuku called the CCL-901. It is a new 9 megapixel display that Torque said has four times the resolution of Apple’s top-tier Cinema HD Display.
A 22-inch display, the CCL-901 sports 3840 x 2400 pixels. It has a native gamma of 1.8 and 5000 kelvin backlights, along with a 200 dot per inch pixel density. It comes with a display adapter, and is equipped with a DVI interface. Torque told MacCentral that the monitor has been tested with ATI Technologies’ Radeon 8500 Mac Edition and 9000 graphics cards.
Totoku is a Japanese manufacturer of monitors whose product line includes the ProCalix CRT display and the ME-201L, a digital display that’s optimized for black-and-white photographers. Torque is distributing the CCL-901 in the United States, and the company said supplies of the display are limited.
