Location X, a utility that brings the Location Manager functionality of Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X, has been updated to version 1.1.1, making it compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 (“Jaguar”). It also adds a new sound volume plug-in that lets you change the sound level when switching locations.
Location X allows you to change network, time zone, e-mail settings and more simultaneously with a mouse click. The shareware application is built so that third parties can develop plug-ins that will lets users change even more settings than those provided in the Location X package.
The Location X developers, Alex Keresztes and Greg Novick, said they plan to publish the interface to allow developers to enhance and extend Location X. Location X 1.1.1 is now available for download. Registration is US$10.
