Rorke Data Inc. — the specialists in SAN, RAID and archive storage solutions — and their sister organization, Bell Microproducts Enterprise Solutions Europe, have developed what they describe as the first ever file-level SAN management application for Mac OS X. It’s called ImageSAN.

ImageSAN was developed specifically for the worldwide digital content market and includes nonlinear editing and special effects for film and video, according to Joe Rorke, vice president of marketing for Rorke Data. It’s a data storage-intensive vertical market where the Mac is a dominant force, he added.
Rorke Data will make an upgrade program available for Mac OS 9-based SAN application users, regardless of the brand of the SAN application or the original point of purchase. ImageSAN OS X is available exclusively through Rorke Data and its worldwide authorized resellers. The manufactures suggested retail price is US$1,500. For details, go to the product Web site.
