QuickCam for Notebooks Pro is a $99.95 portable Web camera designed for business travelers — though anyone can use it, of course. It sports a CCD VGA (640×480) sensor and built-in microphone for enabling video, audio and still-image communication over the Web. Software included with the camera enables digital zoom, giving users the option to pan, tilt and zoom up to five times the normal viewing size.
The built-in snapshot button captures still images at a resolution of up to 1.3 megapixels. The QuickCam for Notebooks has an aluminum body that can be slipped into the accompanying slim carrying case. A universal notebook mount attaches to the notebook screen. The Web cam has USB connectivity.
QuickCam for Notebooks Pro ships with Logitech ImageStudio software, which enables applications, such as Logitech IM Video Companion for live video instant messaging with MSN Messenger and AOL Instant Messenger; live video instant messaging with Yahoo! Messenger; one-click video e-mail; video and photo editing; animation software for creating time-lapse and stop-motion movies; video broadcasting; Web album creation; and motion detection.
