Ottawa, Canada-based Corel Corp. has announced its sponsorship of next month’s Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF).
It’s an annual event that’s taken place since 1980. The OIAF is billed as North America’s largest animation festival and the second largest in the world. The annual festival gathers artists and other folks in the business of animation. Corel is a Gold Sponsor of the event.
Corel also plans to use the OIAF to demonstrate products like procreate Painter 7 and R.A.V.E. 2. Corel will also sponsor a shot design workshop hosted by Erik Tiemens of Industrial Light and Magic, who uses the products in his work, including Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. On October 5th, Tiemens will walk attendees through brainstorming digital environments, setting the tone for animatics and more.
This and other workshops are free with a festival pass — visit the OIAF Web site for details.
