The PowerMate is a USB-based multimedia controller that resembles a jog wheel. It incorporates a glowing blue LED on the base and can be used by a variety of different applications for different purposes.
The new version 1.5 software adds features including “Long Click,” an assignable action and “Eject Key,” which enables the PowerMate to act as an eject button. Some other new features have been added, too, like a Global Only checkbox that forces the PowerMate to function as a volume knob, special “Volume Up” and “Volume Down” key commands that activate the one-screen and audible Volume Status display; an Apply button that immediately activates new settings or changes made in the Control Panel; and a direct link to the Griffin Web site from within the Control Panel itself.
PowerMate Software v1.5 is available for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, and is available as a free download from the Griffin Web site.
