Nemetschek North America has announced the release of VectorWorks, RenderWorks, Architect and Landmark 10, new versions of its CAD software for Windows and Macintosh (including Mac OS X). The company said International English versions of the products ship in mid-October; folks looking for localized versions are encouraged to check with their local distributors for availability.

Improvements to the new suite of VectorWorks products include better compatibility with other CAD/CAM software, and interface changes including dynamic zooming and scrolling, customizable context menus, double-click to edit objects, flexible keyboard shortcuts and improvements to palette docking.
VectorWorks 10 also sports new presentation features — gradients and image fills; improved hidden line and dashed hidden line rendering; and improved wireframe extrudes.
That’s not all, either — 3D Power Pack is now integrated into all VectorWorks Version 10 products, so users get advanced modeling capabilities for solids and surfaces, as well as improved shelling and enhanced NURBS curve and surface manipulation. The solids modeling engine has received some performance improvements, and the system has better import and export options, too.
Stereo Lithography file export is now supported, along with an Import/Export IGES command. DXF/DWG support has also been improved. Batch file conversion is supported, auto saving has been improved, and various other enhancements have also been implemented.
Nemetschek North America is also offering a promotion for folks who buy VectorWorks 10 between now and the end of the year — once a month they’ll be giving away a PowerBook G4 (or an IBM ThinkPad), with an additional free copy of VectorWorks 10 already installed.
