In addition to the Macworld news feed announced at Macworld New York in July, Audible also announced support for Apple’s iTunes 3 and the company’s iPod digital device. With a subscription to Macworld Audible News you can download the weekly file, transfer it to your iPod and listen to the latest Macintosh news while exercising, at the office or doing things around the house.
Shawn King of Your Mac Life will be reading the news for Macworld’s news feed on a weekly basis. In the coming weeks interviews, reviews and other product news that can only be found on Macworld and MacCentral will be added to the weekly broadcast. The audio broadcast is currently 15-20 minutes in length and will be expanding as more content is added.
New audible.com subscribers will receive a free six-month subscription to Macworld magazine or a six-month extension to a current subscription, as well as free Audible programs from Robin Williams, Neal Stephenson’s “Snow Crash” and free blank CD-Rs.
Beginning this week, the audio file will be posted every Friday afternoon — this week users get two audio feeds, one today and another on Friday. As a Macworld Audible News subscriber, you will receive a weekly email from Audible notifying you when the file has been posted.
Through Audible.com, customers can choose from over 4,500 audiobooks and 14,000 other audio programs, including national best sellers, classics and daily highlights.
