It’s just September, but it’s still time to start making plans for January’s Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco, California. IDG World Expo, the show’s producer, is already looking ahead with the introduction of the MacBrainiac Challenge.

The MacBrainiac Challenge, hosted by author David Pogue, will be a new game show-style contest in which two teams of Mac luminaries are pitted against one another in a trivia contest. Naturally, MWSF attendees are invited to be part of the audience. In fact, two volunteers will be chosen from the audience to join either the “Mad Dogcows” or “X.F.L.”
Bob “Dr. Mac” LeVitus will head up the Mad Dogcows, who include Adam Engst, publisher of TidBITS and Ted Landau, MacFixIt founder. Shawn King, producer-host of Your Mac Life, will head the X.F.L. team. His team players include Christopher Breen, contributing editor at Macworld, and Andy Ihnatko, Chicago Sun-Times and Macworld columnist.
Macworld Conference & Expo (http://www.macworldexpo.com) will be held Jan. 6-10 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The MacBrainiac Challenge takes place on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 12:30-1:15 p.m.
