Some technology trade shows are seeing attendance and vendor participation dip, sometimes drastically, in the tough economy. Not PhotoshopWorld, the annual gathering of digital images had approximately 2,300 attendees, up about 35 percent from last year.

Thousands of graphic and Web designers, digital photographers, and multimedia specialists from across the country attended the event at Florida’s Tampa Convention Center Sept. 19-21. Conference Chair Scott Kelby thinks the secret to PhotoshopWorld’s success is its commitment to practical training.
“PhotoshopWorld teaches real-world skills and techniques that creative professionals can use to work faster and get better results,” he said. “Not only do our instructors focus on the hottest inside tricks and shortcut tips for image editing, they structure each course so attendees can exercise these skills the moment they get home.”
PhotoshopWorld is the largest Adobe Photoshop event in the world and is hosted by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). The 2003 convention is scheduled for February 19-21 in Los Angeles, California. For details go to the PhotoshopWorld Web site.
