Aladdin Systems Inc. has replaced StuffIt Lite with a new package called StuffIt Standard 7.0. The new package updates what was in StuffIt Lite 6.5.1 and adds new functionality.

StuffIt Standard 7.0 is the first version of the basic compression software that features support for StuffIt X, the new file format that adds 512 bit encryption and improved compression, error correction and more.
Stuffit Standard 7.0 provides support for StuffIt, StuffIt X, Zip and Tar archives, along with StuffIt Expander 7.0, the newest version of Aladdin’s all-purpose file expansion software.
The previously announced release of Stuffit Deluxe 7.0 adds functionality like Microsoft application integration, full file support for Zip archives, Magic Menu browsing, OS X Finder support and much more.
StuffIt Standard 7.0 costs US$49.99. Owners of previous versions of StuffIt Lite and other utilities can upgrade for $19.99 instead. If you’ve bought StuffIt Lite 6.5.x since August 19, you are eligible for a free upgrade.
