Rainer Brockerhoff has released version 1.2 of Zingg!, a “fast launch” contextual menu for Mac OS X that shows a list of all applications that claim to open a selected file.
You can choose certain applications to always be included or always excluded from the list. Classic applications can receive special handling. Zingg! offers more functionality than Jaguar’s “Open With” menu, allowing you to open more than one item or folders, according to Brockerhoff.
Version 1.2 offers Mac OS X 10.2 compatibility. Also, an “Always Include (Override)” option and “Check for Updates…” menu item has been added. The latter allows you to check for updates or news about Zingg!, if you’re connected to the Internet. Also, an alert shows up if you set too many “Always Include” and “Never Include” options.
Zingg! can be downloaded from the product information page. Mac OS X 10.2 or later is recommended for version 1.2. Zingg! is freeware.
