Lexmark International Inc. has introduced the Lexmark X85 All-In-One Print Center, a new multifunction device that’s compatible with Mac OS 8.6 and higher, including Mac OS X.
The black-hued system, which has an estimated street price of US$199, provides inkjet print technology coupled with a flatbed scanner, personal computer-free color copying and scan-to-computer fax capabilities.
It offers resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) when printing on photo paper. The X85 also features up to 2400×1200 dpi in black and color on all paper types. It generates output at print speeds of up to 12 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to six ppm in color.
The X85’s flatbed scanner — which boasts a removable lid — offers 600×1200 dpi optical resolution, 48-bit color scan depth, and up to 19,200 dpi enhanced resolution.
The All-In-One Print Center delivers up to 99 copies from one original and has a zoom range of 25 to 400 percent for reducing and enlarging images. It has such “usability” features as duplex and booklet printing in computer-attached mode. It generates up to 10 copies per minute (cpm) in black and up to three cpm in color.
The scan-to-computer fax capability features fully functional black and color fax applications. Via the “Scan-to-Fax,” you can launch the fax software, scan a file, then input the fax number and send.
The X85 comes with the Accu-Feed paper handling system that lets you choose from a range of print media weighing up to 150 pounds. It has ink level indicators; online product registration; and a LexExpress warranty, featuring a next-business-day-exchange.
