PiXELS 3D maker Pixels Digital is offering buyers a pre-purchase deal on the forthcoming release of PiXELS 3D 4.1 for OS X, the first version of the 3D modeling and animation software designed for OS X.
PiXELS 3D 4.1 will retail for US$799, according to Pixels Digital, but it is available for pre-purchase to 3.x owners for $199 instead. And if you don’t own PiXELS 3D and you’re interested in adding it to your arsenal, then you can do so for $399. (Users who have already upgraded to 4.0 will get the 4.1 update for free, according to Pixels Digital.)
Pixels 3D 4.1 gains more than Mac OS X compatibility. It also utilizes a new ray tracing engine that Pixels Digital calls “radically faster.” A new inverse kinematics (IK) system has also been added.
Pixels Digital plans to release PiXELS 3D 4.1 by the end of October. They caution that these pre-purchase prices will not be available once the software is released.
