Sybase Inc. today used the O’Reilly Mac OS X Conference to that its Adaptive Server Enterprise supports seven popular Mac development environments and all major Mac OS X programming languages.
Sybase said that ASE enables programmatic access using 4D, Omnis Script, REALbasic, PHP, C++, Java, Objective C and AppleScript. FileMaker Pro 6, Runtime Labs’ MacSQL, Lasso Professional 6 and SQLGrinder are also supported.
Sybase’s Software Development Kit (SDK) for Mac OS X was released this past May, and the company said that today’s announcement further enables accelerated development of scalable enterprise solutions, by providing developers with the ability to use familiar environments and languages, using Mac OS X Server v10.2 and Xserve as their platform.
“Sybase’s strategy is simple: provide Mac developers the ability to access the power of ASE from within their preferred development environment of choice,” explained Dr. Raj Nathan, senior vice president and general manager, Sybase Enterprise Solutions Division.
