Eggplant is billed as a “functional testing product for GUI-based applications.” The software enables you to create scripts that can test out the application from the end user perspective via a scripting language called “SenseTalk.”
The software doesn’t have any application or system dependencies, though Eggplant executes on Mac OS X. It’ll work with any system connected via TCP/IP and Virtual Network Computer (VNC). Supported platforms include Mac OS X, Mac OS 9, various flavors of Windows, Linux, Solaris, HP/UX and AIX.
The O’Reilly Mac OS X Conference runs through October 3, 2002 in Santa Clara, Calif. More details are available from the Web site.
