The shareware developers at YazSoft have updated Speed Download to version 1.9.1, adding a Terminal feature, support for additional Web browsers, and more. Speed Download offers multithreading so you can go online and download as many files as you want, simultaneously.

Taking advantage of Mac OS X’s Unix underpinnings, you can now remote control Speed Download from Terminal from anywhere using the command line interface. The tool is now 100 percent seamless with all popular Mac browsers, according to YazSoft. With version 1.9.1, you can set a download position for each item in the queue. Keyboard shortcuts for changing file positions in the queue have been added, as well.
Yazsoft has reorganized the interface to better accommodate users with lower resolutions (even on 640×480 screens). Plug-ins have been optimized and there are other bug fixes and enhancements.
Speed Download requires Mac OS X 10.1 (or higher) or Mac OS 8.6-9.x (with Apple’s CarbonLib 1.6 or higher extensions), and an Internet connection. The cost is US$20 for a single user.
