Apple today released an update for the company’s iPod MP3 player, bringing it to version 1.2.1. The update fixes a problem with the battery icon, so it will now correctly show when the iPod has a full charge.

The iPod includes support for Audible.com so users can download and listen to novels on their iPods. First announced at Macworld Expo in New York, Macworld Magazine and MacCentral recently posted the first in a series of iPod compatible weekly news feed at Audible.com.
In addition, the iPod also supports iTunes 3 Sound Check, which automatically adjusts the volume between different songs for more consistent listening.
With the iPod you can browse your music by Genre and Composers in addition to Artists, Albums and Song titles, as well as sync your contacts and iCal calendars with Apple’s new iSync software.
