Building on last month’s introduction of the Rio S10 and S30S digital music players, SONICblue today announced the S50 and S35S models — two new MP3 players.

The S50 sports 128MB built in memory, upgradeable to 256MB via a MultiMediaCard (MMC). It features a backlit screen and integrates a clock and stopwatch, as well as an FM tuner. It includes a carrying case and features battery life of up to 35 hours, according to the manufacturer. It runs on one AA alkaline battery. It also sports and adjustable equalizer with repeat and shuffle play mode settings too.
The S35S, meanwhile, is specially tailored to athletes. It features a lightweight design and can be strapped to your arm during workouts. Its shell is made of a rubberized material. Like the S50, the S35S features 128MB of built-in memory upgradeable to 256MB. It also includes a backlit screen, clock and stopwatch, and FM tuner, and in addition to a carrying case it also features an adjustable armband.
Both the S50 and S35S are expected to be “available soon” with suggested retail prices of US$179.99 and $199.99 respectively. They’re both compatible with Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X and come bundled with iTunes.
