Electronics For Imaging, a firm that makes imaging solutions for network printing, will be showcasing its products for digital and offset printing at this week’s Graph Expo. Among those products will be the Splash G640 server for Mac OS X users.
Based on the Mac, EFI’s new Splash G640 offers a color server for graphic arts pros. The Splash G640 is a solution for printing color critical proofs and high-quality short runs, according to Guy Gecht, CEO, Electronics For Imaging. It’s also compatible with graphic arts applications such as Quark XPress, Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator.
Of course, QuarkXPress isn’t yet Mac OS X compatible. However, it’s possible that such a version could see the light of day early next year. See our Aug. 1 article for details. The Graph Expo 2002 show runs Oct. 6-9, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
