Maxtor Corp., which provides storage solutions for Mac and PC users, is releasing its new Personal Storage 5000 family, which introduces a feature named Maxtor OneTouch, which lets you copy files and applications on a desktop or laptop computer with the push of a button.
They’re compatible with both Macs and PCs and come with Dantz Retrospect Express software. The Maxtor Personal Storage 5000 can be customized for automatic or manually activated data backup and restores.
Maxtor’s 5000XT, 5000DV and 5000LE offerings are equipped with both FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces. The 5000XT is a 250 GB/5400 RPM hard drive; the 5000DV (120GB) is a 7200 RPM system; and the 5000LE (80GB) runs at 5400 RPM. The 5000XT, 5000DV and 5000LE are all available now at suggested retail prices of US$399.95, $299.95 and $199.95, respectively.
