RealNetworks said that since the Mac OS X version of RealOne Player was announced at Macworld Conference & Expo this past July, the software has been downloaded more than 800,000 times — including almost 55,000 downloads in the first 24 hours.
The addition of subscription-based content provides Mac RealOne users with access to exclusive content from sports, entertainment and news from leading broadcasters, live audio feeds and more. It costs $9.95 a month.
Another subscription-based service is also supported; RealOne RadioPass. It’s a radio subscription service that provides feeds of 50 ad-free stations of different genres. The service costs $8.95 per month for the 64kbps feed; a 32kbps feed with fewer stations is available for $3.00 less.
The new version also features new functionality: A new pop-down menu in the user interface provides access to RealOne Home, which features exclusive content, broadband media and more. Media Search provides access to a search index of streaming and downloadable media files. A new Favorites menu also provides a way for users to save and access frequently used links.
You will be able to download RealOne Player for Mac OS X beta 2 from the RealNetworks Web site today.
