Honolulu, HI-based Stupendous Software LLC has released four iMovie effects plug-ins containing a total of 99 different effects. You can even download 18 of them for free in demo versions available for download from the company’s Web site.

Color Effects, Crops & Zooms, Glows & Blurs and Time Effects are all ready for purchase and download from the Web site. They’re priced at US$25 per plug-in pack and are compatible with iMovie 2.1.1 and Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X, according to the developer.
Color Effects is a total of 32 effects to apply various black and white looks, color adjustment and enhancement features to your iMovie clips. You can add noise, posterize images, unstretch scenes shot in 16 x 9 format, and obtain a widescreen look from standard footage.
Crops & Zooms offers 30 various zooming and cropping options from blocky to smooth, with circular and square peephole effects, ramp effects, image transformations like shrink, stretch, flip and rotate included. An animated camera shake effect is also included.
Glows & Blurs combines 25 different blur, glow and diffusion effects, from defocus to horizontal and vertical blurs, blurs of individual color components, artistic effects like embossing, extracting and emphasizing edges and more.
Time Effects includes 12 different effects for doing slow motion, fast motion, skipping frames, motion blurring and motion trails, which Stupendous Software said can mimic the look of slow motion as seen in Japanese anime. You can also simulate the look of footage shot at frame rates other than 30fps.
