Apple is offering a special promotion for users of Alias|Wavefront’s Maya 4.5 3D graphics and animation software. The deal provides up to US$3,000 off the cost of Shake — a compositing tool used by motion picture and high-end post production studios.

Under the terms of the special, users who have version 4.5 of Maya Complete or Maya Unlimited can get Shake 2.5 GUI for Mac OS X for $2,000 off. Users can get an additional $1,000 off the purchase of Shake 2.5 Render if they attend a Maya/Shake seminar.
Some terms and conditions apply — you must present a valid Maya 4.5 serial number, and you must purchase a GUI or Render maintenance package as well. Multi-seat licenses don’t qualify, and the purchase must be made through Apple Authorized Pro Film Resellers only. So make sure to read the restrictions on Apple’s Web page above. The deal runs through December 20, 2002.
Shake became an Apple product this past February when Apple acquired Nothing Real, the software developer behind Shake’s creation.
