It’s been a big week for promotions on Apple’s Web site. The latest deal is the Power Couple promotion, which nets buyers of some new Macs up to US$400 off when they purchase a display too.

Through the end of December, folks who buy a Power Mac G4 or a PowerBook G4 can get anywhere from $200 – $400 back via a mail-in rebate when they buy an Apple flat panel display at the same time.
Buyers who get the dual 867MHz get $200 back, while folks who pick up the dual 1GHz Power Mac or the 667MHz PowerBook G4 get $300 returned. Folks who opt for the top-of-the-line 1.25GHz Power Mac G4 or 800MHz PowerBook G4 can get $400 back on their purchase.
The amount you’ll receive back is based on which Mac you buy, not the display. So if you don’t want to spend the money it’d take to get a Cinema Display, you can save yourself some coin and still come out a few hundred ahead.
