Quark Inc. announced plans to re-launch its ServicePlus customer care program. Under the re-launch, which the company says is due to customer feedback, it will be easier for businesses to plan and budget their QuarkXPress software expenses, according to Quark spokesperson Glen Turpin. The ServicePlus customer care program should be implemented later this month.
It features a guaranteed no-charge upgrade to the next release of QuarkXPress for all licenses enrolled in the revised program, even if Quark doesn’t release an upgrade during the contract period. ServicePlus members will also receive volume discounts on QuarkXPress, unlimited technical support for serial numbers enrolled in the program, and discounts on printed documentation. Customers with more than 200 licenses enrolled in the program will receive additional benefits, Turpin said.
Quark customers with 10 or more QuarkXPress licenses may be eligible for membership in the new ServicePlus program. Organizations that have more than 10 licenses may choose to enroll some or all of their licenses in the program, although a minimum of 10 licenses must be enrolled; only enrolled licenses are eligible for free upgrades and support.
Quark customers in the United States and Canada who are interested in becoming members of ServicePlus can call 800-676-4575 for more information. Customers in Europe should call 00800-1787-8275.
Of course, the update many people are waiting for is a Mac OS X version of QuarkXPress. There’s speculation such an update could see the light of day at January’s Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco. However, Quark isn’t talking specific release dates.
“Clearly, the publishing industry is largely working on the Mac OS and Mac OS X is the future of the Mac,” Turpin said in August. “We’re absolutely committed to release QuarkXPress for Mac OS X.”
