Easypress Technologies has released their first public beta of Atomik Roundtrip, software that provides bi-directional XML (eXtensible Markup Language) support for QuarkXPress. The public beta is available by registering online.
Atomik Roundtrip will enable users to import XML into QuarkXPress and “faithfully” re-export it, said Nick Reed, Easypress Technologies director of product strategy. With a click, users can update the QuarkXPress document if the source XML file changes and update the source XML file if the QuarkXPress document changes. This ensures consistency of content across all media, efficient reuse of content and rapid updates of timely information, Reed said.
XML content can be added to QuarkXPress documents through a drag and drop process or by using the Atomik Roundtrip place holder technology to import individual XML elements or collections of XML elements into predefined templates. Beta testers will be offered a 10 percent discount on orders for Atomik Roundtrip 1.0 placed before Nov. 15, according to MacTech magazine .
